Fleet Manager

The Challenge:

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead & Optimize: Oversee daily operations of our fleet, ensuring vehicles are maintained, operational, and dispatched efficiently to meet high-volume demand.
  • Fleet Management & Maintenance: Manage maintenance and repair schedules for all vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards. Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Operational Oversight: Plan and coordinate the deployment of vehicles and equipment for traffic control projects. Assign resources to meet project timelines and use fleet tracking software to monitor locations, optimize routing, and improve fuel efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, train, and develop a team of drivers and equipment operators, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes safety, accountability, and excellence. Address any operational or personnel issues that arise.
  • Fleet Expansion: Coordinate the acquisition, leasing, and deployment of new vehicles while managing existing inventory for cost-effective solutions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all fleet operations adhere to DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines. Implement safety protocols, conduct regular audits, and train staff on safety standards and defensive driving techniques.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize fleet management software and data analytics to track fleet performance, including fuel consumption, vehicle downtime, and maintenance costs. Provide regular reports to senior management and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Problem Solver: Quickly address any challenges, from mechanical issues to logistical roadblocks, ensuring smooth operations without delays.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage the fleet’s operating budget, negotiate vendor contracts, and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising service quality.

  What you’ll need to Succeed:

  • Experience : 3-5 years of proven experience in fleet management or logistics, ideally in traffic control or construction.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong organizational and leadership abilities to manage a diverse team and inspire high performance.
  • Strategic Mindset: A passion for operational efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and modern vehicle technologies.
  • Safety Focus: Commitment to ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and develop solutions for continuous improvement.
