Background
The School of Health Sciences in the McQueary College of Health and Human Services at Missouri State University is searching for a colleague to join our vibrant and collegial school (one of seven open positions). This position is a tenure track, nine-month appointment at the Instructor rank. Missouri State University currently enrolls more than 24,000 students (approximately 20,000 undergraduates and 4,000 graduate students). Within the School of Health Sciences, the Biomedical Sciences Program has 12 full time faculty members, 12 graduate students (MS), and approximately 400 undergraduate majors. Location and Environment
The School of Health Sciences is one of five academic units in the McQueary College of Health and Human Services with 10 undergraduate and 4 graduate programs of study in human health focused fields. The Biomedical Sciences Program teaches a human-focused curriculum in medical biosciences to offer undergraduate degree programs in Biomedical Sciences (options in cell & molecular biology, anatomy & physiology, human health sciences) and Clinical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Technology, and a Master of Science program in Biomedical Sciences (options in cell & molecular biology and anatomy & physiology). The School of Health Sciences research facilities provide a standard array of shared equipment, including tissue culture laboratories, a histology lab, fluorescence microscopes, and access to an electron microscopy facility. Research collaboration within the school and college is encouraged, and research opportunities may be possible in faculty research cohorts.
