Position: IT Policy Analyst
Location: Remote Role
Contract Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:
The IT Policy Analyst is responsible for producing high-quality written communication for an IT Division within a federal government agency. This includes creating policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other internal stakeholders to analyze, recommend, author, and deliver essential documentation such as procedures, policies, and SOPs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, draft, and maintain IT-related policies to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, organizational standards, and IT objectives.
  • Create strategies through policies and other channels to educate the workforce on proposed and ongoing efforts to drive efficiency, new initiatives, standardize IT concepts, ensure compliance with federal policies, and revise existing standards.
  • Develop and update communication outreach SOPs, policy directives, and related processes and procedures.
  • Analyze business processes to determine documentation needs.
  • Gather information through research, SME interviews, source documents, and review of existing documentation.
  • Write various types of documentation such as policies and operational procedures.
  • Conduct regular reviews with SMEs to maintain accuracy and completeness of documents.
  • Ensure documents comply with federal government standards for language, writing style, structure, and format.

  • Strong experience in developing policies in a start-up environment.
  • Excellent interviewing, listening, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to foster harmonious relationships.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective IT policy implementation.
